Asia-Link, Inc. was founded in Sarasota, Florida in 1986 by its Chairman and CEO, Valerie A. Kane, and its COO, Alan S. Kane. Ms. Kane is the corporation’s sole owner. From its inception, Asia-Link, Inc. has benefited from the Kanes’ strong personal and professional relationship with Mr. Steve Pang, a native of Taipai, Taiwan. With business affiliations in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and mainland China, Mr. Pang has developed state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities for Asia-Link, eventually becoming a principal of Glory Mark, LTD in Guangdong, China. Since 1991, Glory Mark has been Asia-Link, Inc.’s primary source of custom cable assemblies and sub-assemblies, and other custom components for customers such as 3M, NCR, Philips, Avaya, IBM, and Dell. In 1996, Glory Mark became a certified ISO 9000 (now 9002) company. The ISO 9000 family of standards represents an international agreement on good management practices with the goal of ensuring that each certified member can consistently deliver the product and/or services that meet the quality requirements of their customers. In 2002, Glory Mark was registered as a QS 9000 company. QS9000 is a series of mandatory quality system standards required by auto manufacturers. In 1989, the Kanes relocated their family and their growing business to Louisville, Kentucky. Renting office space in the Marketplace in Middletown, they soon had a staff of several employees.

In 1995, they purchased a historic home and horse farm poised on eight acres on LaGrange Rd. just east of the Gene Snyder Freeway. After extensive renovations of the house, barn, and another outbuilding, “The Farm”, as it came to be known, eventually accommodated twenty employees. The lush country setting proved an excellent site for a variety of company events and activities: picnics and barbecues, games of horseshoes, basketball, softball, and even a chipping contest.
In the late 1990s, the Commonwealth of Kentucky purchased approximately half the acreage in order to connect Reamer’s Rd. with Westport Rd. Asia-Link, Inc. occupied the remaining acreage until it moved to its current larger facility in
